THE CORRUPTION IN AMERICAN MEDIA

Nothing is more powerful than an idea that has come of age, it cannot be stopped. It is guided by the toughest of shields; such shields are guided by steady hands of truth. It lights up the way for whoever chooses to follow it; in the shadows, it provides the spirit to guide its people; a people who hold unsheathed swords ready to defend the truth.

Being born in a small country such as Kenya affords you a very good perspective of the world. Your perspective is less clouded by the belief that you know better. You learn to accept situations as they are and not how they present themselves to be.

Time and time again, history has proven that the greatest of all have the tendency to fall from within. They succumb to the corruption of the mind and presently, this corruption is sold in American media. It is the kind of corruption that American cigarette companies sold in the 1960s in the media by depicting smoking as a sophisticated culture; one that helped men become sporty and helped women slim, well…it led to rise of lung cancer deaths and it has never changed.article-2107969-11F61829000005DC-826_306x452.jpg This is the kind of effect that absolute power possesses, it corrupts the mind and great nations start having singular perspectives. Even when the king is naked, the subjects still grace the king with flatter; on how beautiful his ugly physic is.

If you did not believe in brain washing as a scientific method, well believe me. If you constantly watch certain news networks that express certain views, you are bound to get corrupted. It is this kind of corruption that fuels candidates such as Donald Trump. Sitting in our living room, watching American news channels, I am but amazed at the corruption that is sold on TV. A presidential candidate is evaluated based on the opinions of certain media houses. They are the convincing power that tells the masses what they should believe in.

I have listened keenly to the different presidential candidates and it amazes me that Trump will say A against a certain group and when the alarm is raised, he simply steps to any microphone and claims he meant B. what is amazing is that people still listen to the poor guy. One has got to be absolutely crazy to believe that trump is presidential material. The character of men is not judged based on talking points. When your hand is strapped to a nuclear switch, you cannot afford to play poker with world affairs and emotions. The America that emerged after The Cold War is very different.

Electing a president like trump would cast a dark shadow that America would not be able to come out of. It would be the fall of a great nation.

ddw.jpgJust like the Romans the future would one day just read on their contribution to the world. It is true that Americans are very good within themselves but as power is converged at the top, corrupted thoughts breed. Throughout the history of the world, great nations were sustained by people seeking a better life in another part of the world. When this balance of power is upset, people seek elsewhere. It is a seed that is sown out of pride.

In such times; as the gods quarrel within themselves at the dinner table and they accidentally strike the earth with lightening, the earth and her children thunder right back. Such is power and America should not fall to such corruption.

When the rich have got too rich and they no longer feel the lure of money, they look for political power and when they want to asphyxiate certain people, they project their fears on the minorities.  They start blaming their problems on other people and by doing so they demonize them and soon tensions rise and innocent children, young men, wives, husbands and police die. That is what has been happening. But the media fuels trump.

In the dawn of justice, truth speaks for itself and the cocking of guns at corners signifies a problem. When people hold onto primitive gun cultures that are fueled by multinationals; then corruption is unearthed. From whatever dark hole it wasin; it is lifted by truth and even as the giant of an insect wriggles, with its sharp claws and spewing guts, it cannot beat truth… Unlike America the Kenyan media does not take sides and that affords us a neutral perspective.I just wonder at what point the American public gets to make their own decisions, if everything that is reported has a sugar coating.

I first thought about it during the Obama visit to Kenya, and as I switched on the TV and flicked through channels I stuck to CNN. They had the audacity to claim that Kenya is “a hotbed of terror.” It was infuriating at the same time laughable. It was like waking up in the morning to find your face on the morning newspaper. Kenyans on twitter exploded in fury as they called for CNN’s blood, to cut the long story short …We forced the CNN global executive boss to come to a middle income country and apologize to the state; the Truth requires no martyrs it speaks for itself at the appropriate time.b1.jpgI have not known a more peaceful and warm home than Kenya. But as they come to Africa they report only the worst of things, hungry children, the best of the worst of slums… it is the American way.

The closing of borders for migrants can never happen, it cannot succeed and change has never been stopped. It will forge forward at whatever pace but it cannot be stopped. It is laid in the foundations of America and breaking them only breaks the Nation. The truth does not have to be sweet and palatable.

  1. Although there is no such thing as unbiased media and balanced reporting is utter bullshit as it takes no stance at all, “my fellow Americans” would rather sit back and passively suck up whateverthhellitis so they don’t have to think. No one wants to be different and there are very rigid cultural “rules” for what is acceptable behavior. to see? Well. . .look at the way protesters are treated? Look at the “free speech zones” at political rallies, etc. Our society is run by shame and disgust–and laws are perpetrated on such “feelings.” Our rich politicians and idealogues are more interested in war and destruction than human lives, giving the lie to the old adage that “People are the root of the country, food is the first necessity of people.” Why feed the fucking people? Why keep the people healthy? The Communist manifesto is “if you don’t work, you don’t deserve to eat.” Forced labor is slavery. However, the American manifesto is, “if you can’t afford it, you deserve to die.” This is a kind of genocide, no?

It has been interesting–and sad–to watch your article of media prejudice devolve into a political argument with no basis in fact. One “side” lambasting the other. . .as if there are only two sides. And it is so easy to get pulled into such a situation.

Authoritarian institutions and marketers have always known this fact.” Quote from Daniel Kahneman’s Thinking fast and slow. Just what you said about certain networks repeating views to ‘brainwash’ you.

  3. It will be a shame for such a great nation like USA should they end up electing Donald Trump as president.as of my opinion, his speeches reflects that he is not the best placed candidate to take over from Obama.the slogans he is applying such as “make America proud again” are just words with a misled meaning.Trump if voted in as president won’t make USA proud again, but I forsee discrimination of American citizens based on their races or religion.electing Trump is like setting up a time bomb.

I read the first part of your comment with concerned interest However, your ending ad hominem statement changed my personal opinion of you. You ended with this statement.

    ad ho·mi·nem
(of an argument or reaction) directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining.
    “vicious ad hominem attacks”

King Solomon wrote this proverb of advice 3000 years ago which I will now follow if I see any more comment by djed rising blog. Incidentally, the name Djed in Egyptian mythology is a pillar-like symbol in hieroglyphics representing stability.

Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. (Proverb 26:4)

Therefore, I will not comment with you anymore and recommend you check out and act in the manner in which your surname implies.

I agree with you. However, my reply to your blog post remains unchanged as I refer this book and verse to religionists.

When I publish a blog post, my expectation is not that those who reply agree with me. BTW, you have not commented on any of the 47 blog posts I have on my website. So, please do not try to give your readers the impression that you are more open-minded than I am. Whether or not you ‘comment’ with me anymore is about as relevant to the rain falling into the Atlantic Ocean. In other words, the only readers who care what you or I write or think have to first be impacted by our raindrops. So far, you are the only person carrying an umbrella to shield yourself from my raindrops. Your raindrops don’t bother me. In that way, at least I can appreciate rain.

  5. I honestly believe if trump wins, then America is likely to fall.
But Hilary Clinton might not be the best candidate as well because of the various contoversies reported, however this seems to be the case of the lesser of two evils. Having a two party system is a problem. Where you have to vote for someone just because you do not want someone else to win.
That’s what happened in my country as well. Although it’s a multi party system, two parties have all the power.

And the American media is biased, they report the news they want people to hear.
But this time, I think the media is against Trump. Because all I see is bad news and them pointing out his blunders. From what I gather, the American media does not want Trump. If the people want Trump, we can only hope America does not fall.

  6. You think that the way that media organizations report things – media organizations that a good 99% of us have no input into and don’t trust at all – represent the American way? Did you know that the media is consistently ranked as being one of the least trustworthy institutions in America? That’s how we feel about the likes of CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, NYT, LA Times, and even FOX.

However, the most hilarious thing is that you claim that news sources in Kenya have no bias. If you pointed me to them – and assuming they were written in English – I could find the bias for you in minutes, easy, every time.

Here’s a clue: look for adjectives. The enemy / out group / unpopular / hated group always gets the scary adjectives. What is presumed to be normal / acceptable never does. Thus, in American media you will always hear about “right-wing” “conservative” “reactionary” and so on, while you will almost never hear “leftist” “liberal” “hard left”.

    1. That is not what I meant. This is what I did; in the USA, media houses openly hold certain political stands and they will express them openly. I have always maintained that we are no better. In this world ,you are first a world citizen before you are nationalistic, when one dies you turn to dust and the dust knows nothing about countries. Kenyan media also has its corruption but on accessing unbiased news, we are waay! ahead of America.

Your above statement is lacking a descriptive adjective. It would be more accurate, based on her email lies and Clinton Foundation personal enrichment to describe the potential first woman President as ‘ the first CROOKED woman President,’ in my opinion.

      1. These videos address the emails that were not marked classiied, so she did not lie –

She used one server at a time, you know, pretty much like how many phones do you use in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. How many phones have you had between 2009-2012. No lie, here as she had one server until it needed to be replaced but she did not use two or more servers at the same time.

Nope. The State Department, Kirby stated that the 14,900 or so emails are both personal and possibly work related, but that many of the work related emails might be duplicates, and therefore, not new.

I’ve gotta go now, my bullsh8t meter is stuck on [your] stupidity.

      2. I read this from a Facebook post. The Liberal US Media also reports in support of Hillary Clinton in a very biased way. But here is what someone was pointing out:

        “10 QUESTIONS for HILLARY …………….
(1). “When you left the White House after your husband’s last term as president, why did you steal $200,000.00 worth of furniture, china, and artwork? And why did you tell the public that you ‘returned it’ when you only brought back $27,000 of it?
(2). Mrs. Clinton, when you were Secretary of State, why did you solicit contributions from foreign governments, (muslim princes donated multi-millions and got favors in return) for the Clinton Foundation after you promised President Obama you would not?
(3). Mrs. Clinton, why do you and your husband claim to contribute millions of dollars to charity for a tax write off when it goes directly into your Clinton Foundation which only gives out 10% of the funds to charitable purposes and you pocket the balance to support yourself tax free? What does your daughter Chelsea do there for her 3 million dollar yearly salary?
(4). Mrs. Clinton, why are you unable to account for 6 billion dollars of State department funds that seem to have disappeared while you were Secretary of State?
(5). Mrs. Clinton why did you say you were broke when you left the White House, but purchased a 5 million home, built an addition for the secret service, and charge the tax payers of the United States $15,000.00 a month for their rent, an amount that pays your the entire mortgage?
(6). Mrs. Clinton why did you lie to the American people about the terrorist attack in Benghazi, but managed to tell the truth to your daughter that same night it happened?
(7). Mrs Clinton were you and your husband disbarred from practicing law? Answer: In 1996, Landmark Legal Foundation filed a complaint asking the court to disbar Hillary Clinton for violating the Arkansas code of conduct, (which requires lawyers to act with honesty and integrity) for her actions in the Whitewater scandal cover up. Hillary’s law license was suspended in 2002 for failing to complete her continuing legal education requirements. Bill Clinton was convicted by a grand jury for perjury and obstruction of justice to which he was impeached by the House of Representatives and disbarred from practicing as an attorney. He has been accused by a dozens of women for rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment. He settled out of court for $850.000 in one case. Hillary has him out on her campaign trail championing for her theme of feminism and “women’s rights”. What a blasphemy. Neither one has enough integrity to hold onto a law license.
(8). Mrs Clinton, why did you say, “I do not recall,” “I have no recollection,” and “I don’t know” 56 times while testifying under oath during the Starr investigations.
•(9). Mrs Clinton, what Really happened to Ron Brown when he was about to testify against you and your husband?
(10). Mrs. Clinton what really happened to law partner Vince Foster? No way he committed suicide.
CNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, I know that the answers to any of these questions don’t matter to you, you would support her regardless of whether she was guilty of murder, embezzlement, money laundering, and I could go on and on. The Democrat’s and liberal’s moto is, “DON’T CONFUSE ME WITH THE FACTS – MY MIND IS MADE UP.

I am personally praying for the world. I think we are living in difficult times. Americans have a very difficult decision to make, with either of these two candidates we lose. But we have to remember that the Supreme Court is on the line and the person elected to the presidency will be selecting the justices who will be making decisions for the good of our nation for the next 25 years. God help us all!

What you might be enjoying in America might be the seed planted by a slave who harvested cotton in Mississippi or a soldier who died in the American civil war; the achievements of a President have never been fairly judged by the generation he serves

      1. You don’t have to. Why create limitations in a word for people who are not yet in office ? And again I didn’t talk of two tyrants as you call them.. I talked of one …just Trump…BT he is not a tyrant ..you created that word… I just pointed out something that Americans take to be normal; The corruption of judging Candidates based on talking points, not that where I come from is better in any way but because our world is facing the same challenge… Wouldn’t you want a world where your son ,daughter ,grandchild …to be born in a world where the fate of a child is not limitited by race, geographical region , culture, religion… What if the America you know today will not be the one of tomorrow ? If you think that it is impossible

      1. The ‘lesser-of-two-evils’ idealogy was created by third-party politicians who open and step out of their coffins every four years to suck the life out of legitimate two-party politicians running for president.

The political process of the United States is based on the two-party private institutions known as the Democratic and Republican parties. The Lincoln Republicans of 1863 are not idealogically matched to the party of 2016. The Southern Democrats of 1863 (including the white supremacist Ku Klux Klan, and plantation owners supporting African-American chattle slavery) did not vote for the 15th Amendment (https://www.google.com/?ion=1&espv=2#q=15th%20amendment) are also not matched idealogically with the anti-discrimation party of 2016.

Do not get it twisted, the party of Lincoln is being mostly expressed by the assassin’s spirit of John Wilkes Boothe, who was a Democrat. These southern democrats became republicans and it is this part of the party that shouts for joy about Donald Trump.

  11. If the media is corrupt, and they mostly hate Trump, then how do you figure Trump is being force fed to us by the media? Those “alarm bells” you’re referring to are coming from the news networks. The only reason their attempts to dissuade people hasn’t worked this time is because by and large, people are fed up with the snake oil, the lies and the bias, the hidden agenda’s, and so on that have been defining them more and more.

    My opinion anyways. 🙂

    1. Trump is a genius , he thrives in controversy. He will turn bad news to votes and money, I know this because such leaders are all over Africa. The question is… After all the political statements ,and let’s say he does not win … Will the demon that Trump will have created die with his presidential bid or will it be a constant shadow. Remember that every time the world listens to trump … All it hears is the voice of America. It represents a dark shadow that the world always thought america had.

      1. Well, a) we arguably did a lot of good for the world even during our darkest periods and b) most of that supposed shadow is based on dishonest portrayals of him, deliberate attempts to build a narrative that doesn’t match reality (much of which accounts for the dark shadow you refer to, at least imo, because most of the bad things they say about him are flat out (deliberate) distortions, and a few (especially over the last month or so) have not only *been* outright lies about him (or what he said, or what one policy or another entails) but have been *proven* to the public at large to be lies. And then there’s c) whatever potential risks are associated with Trump, our Constitution is meant to be beyond reproach. If he were ever to start violating it, there’s a provision in our constitution for that sort of behavior too, built in to ensure that if it ever comes to it, we’ll be able to protect and retain all the rights laid out within it.

        That’s the way I see it anyhow 🙂 .

      2. Well …that’s what the good Americans know but that is not what the rest of the world knows . from the war in Palestine, Iraq ,African affairs ,drone wars and America does influence that. Who exactly is going to speak for the small country when world affairs have been turned to god affairs ? Do you imagine in the wildest of imaginations that an American president can be jailed in the ICC? America is a super power and it creates a balance in world affairs ; it would be naive of me to assume that .and that is why we worry when the status quo is upset in such a rapid manner as American foreign policies and affairs have become. Its one small flammable world and someone holds a match. We dont cry foul over the concentration of power, we just don’t want the holder to drop it.

  12. The news organizations were called the fourth estate. They were an unofficial fourth branch of the American government. Their independence has been eroded over the years. First commercials were allowed on network news programs in the late sixties. Then Roger Ailes started Fox News. It is anything but fair and balanced. And now corporations own the media and they are starved for ratings. Ratings mean profits and Corporation would work on profits.
